What a great day we had on Sunday for our 2025 Wgtn Junior Surfing Champs
Firstly I would like to apologise for the sudden changes in the location of the Comp.
A little on the frustrating side for many older kids no doubt. but it was really important for
us to do our very best by everyone who had entered and try to keep everyone happy and together
So the sudden move back to Lyall Bay was a decision we are stoked we made.
Hats off to our President Dave Wave who I know had a sleepless night worrying about the should we or shouldn't we go ahead.
I was still removing sleep from my eyes when I arrived to meet the rest of the team at the beach, and to be honest it didn't look like much was happening. Matt Creswell had faith and scurried to put his wetsuit on, grab his board and headed out to get a couple under his belt before the day progessed .
Us two Daves watched and waited until out of the blue came what would be the decision maker, a beautiful nice clean runner that peeled perfectly all the way to the shore .
It was at that moment Dave Wave turned to me, gave me that look, smiled and said ... NUP .. ITs ON !!
The day played out seamlessly, the sun was shinning and the sausages a sizzling .
Every one who competed surfed brilliantly considering the small conditions
and kids were kept amused for hours Drawing with POSCAS on the Donated DMG Surfboard and the end result unbeliveable.
Was awesome that so many stuck around until the end of the day and enjoyed the prize giving
oh and the Suspense of the Spinning Wheel was so good wasnt it .
